Breaking up with you, your daughter is prettier and easier

Dear Loved One:

By now you probably already know that I am having an affair with the youngest of your daughters. It’s not like I planned this to happen, but I couldn’t help it, she is younger, sexier, prettier and easier. Yes, she is easier than you, and this is a moment in my life when I just want that. I got tired of you playing hard to get. You are just too complicated, with your inner conflicts and your multiple personality disorder trying to be everything to everyone. You just can’t please everybody you know?

Debian: I will always have a place in my heart for you, but I’m with Ubuntu now and we are very happy together. Please stop attacking her. It’s your fault, not hers.

Love.

Gustavo Picon

Oh well, that daughter wouldn’t even exist if it wasn’t for her parent that raised her. :)

I don’t know, there’s so much hype around Ubuntu, but I still haven’t seen the real reasons people prefer it over the Debian.

Yes, Debian is hard to install and has it’s share of pecularities, but once you have it installed and tuned you never have to reinstall it again!

The machine I’m typing this on is Debian, it was installed somewhere in 1995/1996, I don’t even remember :), and yes, it has the most recent software on it, more fresh than the latest Ubuntu!

    Make your own conclusions.

linportal: Well, there’s that LiveCD that you can take on a couple of dates, and if you like it, you can make it a permanent relationship. That’s actually feature with lots of distro’s, though.

But, Ubuntu has this little friend called Automatix that makes Ubuntu even better to hang out with if you’re not worried about being all politically correct.

Ubuntu has worked hard to make themselves painless try out and easy to set up. It’s not perfect, but for the casual user who wants to get down to business, it rocks.

yup… i think at times as the song goes ” the chase is better than the catch”, i just found debian (after years of resisting her sweet apt-get binary temptation) and i found her quite easier going than i expected her to be… i go at her daughter (ubuntu) from now and then… just for kicks, but for the sake of having a hotmeal served everyday, i guess i will stick with the old debian hag!!!

    cheers!!!

Most of the time Debian works. Yes. The problem is when you use unstable and you upgrade in exactly the wrong moment and everything breaks. That hapenned to me. Twice.

    Vincent:

    Thanks :)

    lanjoe9:

Indeed. In fact this site is running in a FreeBSD server.

    BlackHand:

No need to mention the thing since I don’t read comics in spanish. It was funny tho, but I think my version is a lot better ;-)
